They’ve been bamboozled! Matthew Perry and Matt LeBlanc confirmed on Monday, Aug. 10, that they were not invited to the surprise wedding of their former Friends costar Jennifer Aniston and her new husband, Justin Theroux.
“I was surprised,” Perry, 45, told Entertainment Tonight of Aniston’s Aug. 5 nuptials. “I didn’t know about it.”
Despite the invitation snub, Perry — who played Chandler Bing on Friends — said he was “very happy for them.”
LeBlanc, 48, echoed Perry’s well-wishes for his former castmate, adding that there was no trouble between Friends. “I wasn’t there, so I wish her the best,” he shared. LeBlanc, who played the affable Joey Tribbiani on the series — also noted that the nuptials, held at the couple’s $21 million Bel Air Mansion, “was small”; hence, explaining why he, Perry, and David Schwimmer (Ross Geller) were absent from the festivities.
“Everybody is okay,” LeBlanc concluded, giving a shout-out to costars Courteney Cox and Lisa Kudrow. “The girls were there. You’ve got to have the girls there.”
In addition to Cox, 51, and Kudrow, 52, the bride, 46, and groom, 44, were feted at their wedding by a slew of other A-list pals, including Orlando Bloom, Chelsea Handler, Tobey Maguire, Howard Stern, and Jimmy Kimmel, who officiated the intimate ceremony.
Stern, who gave a speech at the nuptials, dished some inside details on his SiriusXM show on Monday, Aug. 10. “I complimented Justin’s mother on raising such a wonderful son,” the America’s Got Talent judge shared. “I love him. I told Jennifer that she deserved a guy like this, because after all, she’s been very sweet and generous with us. But Justin and his body. His abs, his ass. Look at him. I’m giddy over him! Although Orlando Bloom blows him away.”
Following their surprise wedding, which Us Weekly first confirmed last week, the newlyweds and some of their famous friends jetted off to Bora Bora for their honeymoon.
