So false! Kendra Wilkinson shut down a tabloid report about her allegedly imminent divorce from her husband, Hank Baskett, on Wednesday, Sept. 2, telling Us Weekly exclusively that she’s in it for the long haul.
Life & Style claimed that Wilkinson has been nasty to her husband of six years, and that she was gearing up to divorce him. According to the star herself, this couldn’t be further from the truth, and she even went on the record with the tabloid to refute its inaccuracy.
“Honestly, what kind of mother would invite that kind of chaos and pain into her home?” an incredulous Wilkinson, 30, tells Us. “Their reporting is so flawed. I am, though, sad to see anyone root so hard for a marriage to fail. I don’t feel the need to defend the authenticity of my marriage, my family or my business anymore.”
The former Girls Next Door star dealt with a headline-making marital crisis last summer, when it was reported that her husband allegedly had an affair with a transgender model. The affair supposedly went down when Kendra was eight-months pregnant with their second child.
While Baskett repeatedly denied cheating on Wilkinson, he didn’t tell his wife the truth about the situation until the two went through Marriage Boot Camp. “Last year was the worst year of my entire life. People were accusing my husband of cheating on me,” Wilkinson said on the show. “When I confronted Hank he told me nothing. I’ve still loved my husband, but now I need to know why he couldn’t tell me any sooner.”
As evidenced on their reality show, Kendra on Top, the two have been slowly working through their issues. Wilkinson reiterates to Us that she plans to remain with Baskett.
“Marriage is a lifetime of ups and downs,” the former Playmate tells Us. “And Hank and I welcome the challenges that will continue to help us recommit our lives to each other and look forward to growing as partners for years to come.”
Kendra On Top airs on weTV on Friday, Sept. 4, at 10 p.m. ET.
