The big reveal! New movie posters for Star Wars: The Force Awakens were released online on Wednesday, Nov. 4, and feature some of the film’s main characters — both new and old — up close and personal.
“The scoundrel returns December 18,” the official Star Wars Instagram account captioned an image of the poster featuring Harrison Ford. In the arresting image, Ford, 73, reprises his role as Han Solo, holding a gun up to cover half his face.
Ford’s fellow Star Wars veteran, Carrie Fisher, posted her own poster to Twitter with the caption, “Oh Luke, don’t ask for the moon, we have the force.”

Late last month, the 59-year-old actress, who originated the character of Princess Leia in the 1977 original, gave some sage advice to newcomer Daisy Ridley (the actress will play a solitary scavenger named Rey.)
“You should fight for your outfit,” Fisher told the 23-year-old starlet, referring to the infamous gold bikini she donned in 1983’s Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi. “Don’t be a slave like I was.”
Ridley excitedly shared her poster on Wednesday as well, captioning the shot, “It is my very great honor to reveal this INSANELY EXCITING poster for The Force Awakens!!! IT’S REY!!! Looking all freckly from the Jakku sun and as if there’s an adventure to be had!!! AHHHH!”
John Boyega, who plays Finn in the upcoming film, also shared his poster with fans.
“As promised! Sneaky gift! The official FINN poster for Star Wars!” he captioned the image, in which his character wields a bright blue lightsaber.
