After Ayesha Curry’s kids are asleep, the Seasoned Life cookbook author curls up with a glass of white wine and watches her beloved HGTV. But that’s not the reason the mom of daughters Riley, 4, and Ryan, 14 months, looks forward to bedtime.
“They’re so sweet and cuddly at this point,” Curry told Us Weekly at a Tory Burch Sport shopping event benefiting No Kid Hungry in Beverly Hills on September 28. “It’s a good time around our house. We say prayers with Riley in her bed. Talk about her day. It’s a nice way to end the day.”
But the former model, who is married to NBA star Steph Curry, says Riley will occasionally push the boundaries. “We have a two book limit with Riley,” Curry told Us. “She tries to push us for a third but we’re strict!”
Getting Ryan down is a little less involved. “She’s our easy baby,” said Curry. “We put her in the crib, we say, ‘Night, night,’ and she says, ‘night, night,’ back to us and falls asleep. It’s incredible.”
Curry — who is partnering with Cheeky and No Kid Hungry to be the official ambassador of Cheeky's Kid Collection —also opened up about Riley’s big personality. “She’s just like her dad,” the 27-year-old told Us. “I’m actually the introverted one. I’m very shy; I’m like a clam, and my husband is like a social butterfly. She’s definitely more like him than me!”
Another thing the father and daughter have in common: Both hate chocolate (though they’re OK with white chocolate chips!). “Riley’s tried it a few times and she’ll go, ‘I like it …’ and then I’ll see her spit it out,” Curry said. “But I’m fine with that because that means more chocolate for me.”
