Kanye West showed up the only way he knows how to at the debut of his Yeezy Season 3 collection at New York Fashion Week on Thursday, February 11: unfiltered. In addition to revealing his line, West, 38, also dropped a few tracks from his upcoming album, The Life of Pablo, which features several jaw-dropping lyrics.
Check out some of the controversial rapper’s most head-shaking rhymes.
1. “I bet me and Ray J would be friends if we didn’t love the same bitch / You might have hit it first, but I’m rich.”
That sex tape again. Kim Kardashian famously dated Ray J on and off for several years before the pair called it quits in 2007. A private recording the pair had made in 2003 surfaced in February 2007, catapulting the Selfish author to a household name. Ray J reportedly wrote his 2013 song “I Hit It First” about Kim as a way to dis West.
2. “Blac Chyna f–kin’ Rob, helping him with the weight.”
He really went there! Rob Kardashian’s new relationship with Blac Chyna has sparked plenty of controversy on social media — and within the Kardashian-Jenner clan — and West broke his silence over the romance with this biting lyric. Chyna’s BFF Amber Rose — who is Yeezy’s ex-girlfriend — said in a recent interview with the podcast Allegedly that the model is helping the reclusive Kardashian brother shed some weight by “cooking healthy meals for him.”
3. “And I love you like Kanye loves Kanye.”
West is no stranger from social media — case in point, his decision to include this line, which is a nod to a popular meme of the rapper pledging his love … to himself.
4. “I been this way since Arthur was an anteater.”
The rapper left no stone unturned as he reference the popular children’s book Arthur the Anteater in this head-scratching rhyme.
5. “My daughter looked just like Sia, you can’t see her.”
This LOL pop culture reference to Aussie singer Sia, who famously sports an oversized blonde wig that covers her eyes, was one of West’s lighter choices of lyrics.
6. “I feel like me and Taylor might have sex / Why? I made that bitch famous.”
In what was perhaps West’s most daring line, the rapper referenced his now-infamous appearance at the MTV VMA Awards in 2009, crashing the stage as Taylor Swift prepared to give her acceptance speech for Best Female Video. The pair has since made amends, with Swift dancing in her seat next to Kim at the 2015 VMAs while West took home the Vanguard Award and announced his 2020 presidential run.
