Buy it like Beckham! David Beckham paid it forward on a chilly Monday in London. The retired soccer pro, 40, treated paramedic Catherine Maynard and her elderly patient to some coffee and tea while they waited outside in the cold for an ambulance February 1.
“We were both very amused and flattered,” Maynard told the BBC.
Originally, Maynard wasn’t sure what she was seeing. After the underwear model passed them and said hello, she turned to her patient and said, “I think that was David Beckham.”
“Ten minutes later, he came back with a cup of coffee for me and a tea for the patient,” she revealed.
The London Ambulance Service’s official handle tweeted a photo of Maynard and Beckham, writing, “Thank you David Beckham for buying a tea and coffee for Cycle Paramedic Catherine and her patient #buyitlikebeckham.”
The patient was taken to the hospital, where he was treated for minor injuries.
