Taylor Swift had a birthday treat for fans on Sunday, December 13, when she announced she was releasing a film version of her 1989 world tour via Apple Music.
The 1989 World Tour LIVE was filmed in front of 76,000 fans at the ANZ Stadium in Sydney, Australia, on November 28. It is directed by Jonas Akerlund and the film captures Taylor’s entire performance from Sydney, complete with never-before-seen footage filmed backstage and during rehearsals and a host of special guests.
And as with anything Taylor Swift, the 26-year-old singer (who celebrated her birthday with boyfriend Calvin Harris yesterday) got some help from her squad of celebrity BFFs to announce news of the exciting show.
In the trailer for the show, Selena Gomez, Miranda Lambert, Alanis Morissette, Justin Timberlake and Mick Jagger are all featured doing their onstage cameos with the “Bad Blood” singer.
“I wondered what it would be like to perform for 70,000 people,” birthday-girl Swift says as images of the amazing tour fill the screen. “I wondered what it would look like if they were all lit up and dancing around like no one was watching. I wondered what would happen if I was to ask the most amazing artists in the world to come out and perform on my stage. Would they do it? I wondered what it would be like to get so lost in it every night and never want it to end. It would be like this.”
