Elizabeth Banks turned the Saturday Night Live stage into her own personal fashion show — and musical variety sketch — on Saturday, Nov. 14 in a jaw-dropping ball gown.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 actress, 41, barely fit through the entrance to the stage in her stunning, voluminous black lace Romona Keveza number, which featured an A-line silhouette and strapless neckline.

Immediately, Banks made a joke about the unusual attire — most hosts do their opening monologues in cocktail dresses or pantsuits. “Thank you so much!” she said to the audience as she preened and stroked the gown. “I hope I look okay, I just came from the gym.”
But the fun — and the fashion show — didn’t stop at the one-liner. While Banks reminisced about her Pitch Perfect 2 directing gig in a song-and-dance number, crew members stripped off the gorgeous frock and revealed a skimpier black sparkly minidress she had on beneath it.
