James transferred to well-known private school Sierra Canyon to play basketball alongside Zaire Wade, the son of Dwayne Wade. In June 2024, James was selected by the Los Angeles Lakers with the 55th overall pick in the NBA Draft. The selection placed James on the same team as his father, marking the first-ever father-son duo to be in the NBA.

Bronny’s awards and accolades include being named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team in 2020 and being recognized as one of the top young players in the NBA.
