
David Corenswet
The Superman actor graduated from the Shipley School and briefly attended the University of Pennsylvania before transferring to the Juilliard School, where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in drama in 2016.
His father, John Corenswet, was a stage actor in New York City before becoming a lawyer; he passed away in 2019. David’s maternal grandfather is Edward Packard, the creator of the “Choose Your Own Adventure” book series.
In 2018, Corenswet guest-starred on the Netflix series House of Cards. He gained recognition for his role as River Barkley in the Netflix series The Politician (2019-2020), created by Ryan Murphy. In 2020, he starred as Jack Castello in another Ryan Murphy/Netflix series, Hollywood. In 2022, he appeared in the HBO miniseries We Own This City as David McDougall.
On the big screen, Corenswet played Michael Lawson in the political thriller Affairs of State (2018). He also portrayed The Projectionist in the horror film Pearl (2022), a prequel to the film X. In 2024, he appeared in the disaster film Twisters as Scott and was cast as Clark Kent/Superman in director James Gunn’s Superman (2025).
