DDG (born Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr.) is a rapper, singer and YouTube personality. DDG was raised in Pontiac, Michigan, where he attended International Tech Academy, graduating as valedictorian before enrolling at Central Michigan University. He later dropped out to pursue content creation full time, relocating to Los Angeles to focus on building his brand across YouTube and other social media platforms.
DDG initially gained attention through vlogs, pranks and reaction videos on YouTube, amassing millions of subscribers. He transitioned into music in the late 2010s, releasing tracks like “Balenciagas” independently before signing with Epic Records. His 2020 single “Moonwalking in Calabasas” marked a breakthrough and later earned platinum certification. He has since released projects including Valedictorian (2019) and It’s Not Me It’s You (2022), collaborating with artists including YG and NLE Choppa.
DDG was previously linked to influencers including Rubi Rose. He began dating Halle Bailey in 2022, and the couple welcomed their first child, son Halo, the following year. The pair split in 2024, at which time Bailey alleged abuse and was granted a restraining order from the rapper. She was later granted sole custody of their son. DDG has denied all allegations.
