DeAnna Pappas joined Bachelor Nation in 2007 when she vied for the affections of Brad Womack on season 11. After leaving the show single, Pappas was named the lead of The Bachelorette season 4 in 2008. Pappas ultimately accepted a proposal from Jesse Csincsak in the finale, but the pair called it quits less than one year later.

Pappas moved on with Stephen Stagliano after being introduced through his twin brother, Bachelorette season 5 contestant Michael Stagliano. Pappas and Stephen wed in October 2011 and went on to welcome daughter Addison and son Austin in 2014 and 2016, respectively. Pappas announced in 2023 that she and Stephen had called it quits, finalizing their divorce the following year.

In 2025, Pappas was arrested after an altercation with Stephen and was released on bail the same day. She denied allegations of a drinking problem in her legal response and filed a restraining order against him.
