
Ty Dolla $ign
Ty Dolla $ign (born Tyrone William Griffin Jr.) is a Grammy-nominated singer and producer. Born and raised in Los Angeles, the rapper got his start in music by learning how to play a number of instruments, including bass, guitar, and drums. A 2010 collaboration with rapper YG jump started his career. Dolla $ign went on to release a mixtape the following year and landed a record deal with Atlantic Records in 2012.
His debut album Free TC was released in late 2015 and debuted at No. 14 on the Billboard 200. To date, Dolla $ign has collaborated with and produced for some big names in the industry, including Kendrick Lamar, Nicki Minaj and Tyler, the Creator. He earned his first Grammy nomination with songwriting credits on Skrillex’s “Midnight Hour” in 2020 for Best Dance Recording. Dolla $ign has also contributed to film and television soundtracks, including 2016’s Suicide Squad and 2017’s The Fate of the Furious.
Dolla $ign has a daughter, Jailynn (born in 2005), from a previous relationship. In 2017, Dolla $ign entered a relationship with Fifth Harmony’s Lauren Jauregui. The two split in 2019.
