No mommy guilt here! Expecting her first child this fall, Smash actress Megan Hilty isn't necessarily worried about gaining extra pregnancy pounds. "I love being pregnant, I really do. I love it, 'cause I can eat and sit around," Hilty, 33, joked to Us Weekly in early June during a performance at New York City's Cafe Carlyle.
Keeping active during her pregnancy by walking her dogs and lifting arm weights, the Broadway vet is all about her baby-to-be, a girl due in September. "When else in my life can I live like this? I'm trying to enjoy [pregnancy] and not put pressure on myself to look a certain way," Hilty said.
The actress—who tracks the size of her growing daughter with apps that equate the baby's size to fruit—has found that her taste buds have changed during pregnancy. "I want everything I can't have: Sushi, tuna fish. I was never a sweets person, and now I have to have at least one cookie every day. Lots more sweets than I'm used to," the bubbly blonde, who married longtime love, actor Brian Gallagher, in a surprise November 2013 Las Vegas ceremony, told Us.
Hilty clearly knows her food triggers, and as a result, she's decided to swear off a few staples for fear of going overboard. "I make my husband's coffee in the morning, just so I can stick my face in and smell it before I give it to him, because I gave it up. I know you can have stuff in moderation, but I'm leaving it all behind," she says of her daily java jolt. "I really want the whole bottle of wine. Like, what's one glass good for?!"
