Chris Young is distancing himself from Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert's shocking split. The Nashville Star alum was pulled into the drama surrounding the country stars' just-finalized divorce on Tuesday, July 21, but he is now setting the record straight.
A report from TMZ claimed that Shelton, 39, ended his four-year marriage to Lambert, 31, after he heard rumors that she was cheating on him with Young, 30. While the site hedged its bets, adding, "our sources say Chris was NOT the catalyst for the divorce, it was another guy, who is not a country singer," Young's name was already in the mix.
The "Tomorrow" singer took to Twitter on Tuesday afternoon to deny his involvement in the divorce. He shared a screenshot of a block of text, choosing not to caption the shot with any additional information.
"I don't normally address gossip but in this case I will," Young wrote. "My name has been mentioned as a contributing factor in Blake and Miranda's divorce. That is totally FALSE."

"They are both my friends and I would not betray that friendship," added Young, who opened for Lambert on various tours over the years. "Just wanted to clear that up. Love you guys – CY."
Sources tell Us Weekly that Young is, in fact, telling the truth and he was never romantically involved with Lambert.
"Chris is promoting new music now so his name is out there," an insider says. "But he's not that dumb to go messing with Blake's woman. [Blake] truly adored Miranda and was the last one to always defend her."
