Dakota Johnson has come out of hiding! Hours before it was revealed that Jamie Dornan would be replacing Charlie Hunnam as Christian Grey in Fifty Shades of Grey, the actress — who will be playing Anastasia Steele opposite Dornan in the sex-filled film adaptation of E.L. James' trilogy — stepped out to attend the CFDA & Vogue Fashion Fund Event in West Hollywood, Calif., on Wednesday, Oct. 23.
Showing off her slim figure in a white and black dress, the 24-year-old daughter of Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson stunned with her blonde locks swept back during her night out at the Chateau Marmont. The tight-fitted dress also showed off her toned body with a lingerie-inspired bustier top.
Later that night, it was revealed that Dornan would be taking over for Hunnam as Johnson's counterpart in the film. (Variety was first to report the news.) "Dakota was there to act against them, they did some of the heavier scenes from the script and read their chemistry," an insider revealed to Us Weekly about earlier tests done with possible Grey contenders. "Dakota's job is solid, they know that she can handle this role and they like her for it, when you meet her and talk to her you know that she's got the character in her."
That seems to be the case for Dornan now, too. "Everyone trusts that he'll make an excellent Christian and will do the role justice," an insider tells Us of Dornan. "His contract is set — this has the potential to make him a huge star." Adding, he's "all in."
The Irish actor and model, 31, shouldn't have a problem with the nudity, as he's previously stripped down for ads in Calvin Klein and GQ.
"Jamie has a really good reputation as someone easy to work with, easy going and is seen as someone who will very appreciative of this role," a second source adds of the former Once Upon a Time guest star. "It's his charm and personality that is winning people over."
