David Beckham just took the lyrics to the Spice Girls' "Viva Forever" to heart. The British soccer star, 40, declared his love for his wife Victoria Beckham in one permanent, romantic way.
David took to Instagram on Wednesday, July 22, to reveal how he celebrated the 16th anniversary of his wedding to Posh Spice, now 41. The athlete shared a photo of his hand with a tiny number "99" freshly tattooed on his pinky finger as a nod to the year that he and Victoria exchanged vows.
"99 was a good year for me…" he captioned the shot. Two weeks prior, on the exact day of the couple's anniversary, David shared a retro glam shot with Victoria, and wrote, "16 years ago today was our special day… 16 years on we have our beautiful children… Thank you for giving me our amazing little ones …. Happy anniversary."
The two English superstars famously tied the knot on July 4, 1999. They both wore shades of white and toted their newborn baby Brooklyn, who was just 4 months old at the time, to Ireland's Luttrellstown Castle for the ceremony.
Now 16 years old and an aspiring male model, Brooklyn also recognized his parents' anniversary earlier this month. He posted a photo of himself as a baby with David and Victoria from the wedding, writing, "Happy anniversary. Love u."
Victoria shared her own Instagram photo in acknowledgement of the special day on July 4. She posted a stunning shot with David, Brooklyn, 12-year-old son Romeo, 10-year-old son Cruz, and 4-year-old daughter Harper.
"Happy anniversary, I love u so much x," the fashion mogul captioned the image. "I'm so proud of our beautiful family x."
