Since calling off their divorce in May, Dennis Quaid and wife Kimberly Buffington-Quaid are putting some serious effort into their reconciliation.
Though she filed for divorce from her husband of eight years in March, just two months later, Buffington-Quaid withdrew her divorce papers. And now? The couple seem determined to move forward, heading out on a romantic getaway to Bora Bora’s Hilton Bora Bora Nui to celebrate their anniversary.
The Quaids stayed in the 3,000 square-foot, $5,000 a night Presidential Villa, and spent their vacation sunbathing, taking in the sights, and cooking dinner together, a resort rep tells Us Weekly.
“Dennis had been to Bora Bora before but it was my first time and I have never seen such a breathtaking sight,” Buffington-Quaid wrote to the resort following their stay. “It was certainly an anniversary to remember.”
Buffington-Quaid’s initial divorce petition stated that her marriage to Quaid had “become insupportable because of discord or conflict of personalities . . . that destroys the legitimate ends of the marriage relationship and prevents any reasonable expectation of reconciliation.”
In May, TMZ speculated that her decision to rescind the filing stemmed from complications in dividing the couple’s assets — though the Quaids’ super romantic recent getaway certainly suggests other factors may have come into play.
