Put me in, coach! Gwen Stefani is returning as a coach for season 12 of The Voice, alongside boyfriend and veteran coach Blake Shelton, Adam Levine and Alicia Keys.
Stefani first signed on as a coach for season 7 and came back for season 9. During that season in fall 2015, viewers saw sparks fly between the No Doubt frontwoman and the “God Gave Me You” singer. Both stars were newly single after painful, headline-making divorces from Gavin Rossdale and Miranda Lambert. The “Used to Love You” songstress later served as an adviser for the country singer’s team during season 10.
Miley Cyrus, who is currently bringing her signature spunk to the show as a coach on season 11, will sit out next season. However, the pop superstar will be back for season 13, which will premiere in fall 2017. Carson Daly will be continuing on as the host of the NBC singing competition.
“We can’t wait to experience the unique chemistry and energy Gwen, Alicia, Blake and Adam will bring to season 12,” Paul Telegdy, president, Alternative and Reality Group, NBC Entertainment, told Variety. “With Miley returning for season 13, we’re truly ecstatic about the unmatched musical know-how and talent coming together in our coming seasons.”
The Voice season 12 is set to air in February 2017.
