May the force be with him. As previously reported, Harrison Ford sustained an injury earlier this month on set of the highly-anticipated sequel Star Wars: Episode VII. Now, his rep tells Us Weekly that the 71-year-old actor, reprising his role as Han Solo, broke his leg during the unfortunate incident.
"Harrison Ford's left leg was broken in an accident. His surgery was successful and he will begin rehab shortly," his rep tells Us in a statement. "He's doing well and looks forward to returning to work." (A Disney rep previously reported that Ford hurt his ankle.)
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ford hurt himself near the door of the Millennium Falcon, which is the same ship that was used in the original Star Wars films. His recovery will take about eight weeks.
"It's really unfortunate. He's been working so hard at this movie, he's pushed himself too hard," a source told Us. "It sounds like he'll probably be rehabbing for a month or month and a half."
