Félicitations! Kristen Stewart snagged the Best Supporting Actress Cesar Award in Paris on Friday, Feb. 20 — making her the first American actress to take home a win at what’s considered the French equivalent of the Oscars. Stewart scored the award for her role in Clouds of Sils Maria.
Wearing a white belted strapless gown, the typically low-key actress looked glam for her big moment. After hearing her name, the Twilight star nervously addressed the audience and admitted her hands were shaking.
During her acceptance speech, Robert Pattinson’s ex-girlfriend gushed over her costar Juliette Binoche, who was also nominated for Best Actress.
“Juliette, thank you. I’m standing in front of a room of people that I don’t need to tell about the power of Juliette Binoche. You can stand in front of her, everything that was happening to me in that film was just me reflecting her,” Stewart said. “Thank you all. I’m very happy to be here,” she concluded after also praising director Olivier Assayas and one of the films producers Charles Gillibert.
The drama, in which Stewart plays a jealous assistant who attempts to romance her boss, has yet to be released in the States, but premiered in France last August.
