Joan Rivers' only child Melissa Rivers has been named executor of her late mother's estimated $150 million estate, as details of the comedienne's will were released on Tuesday, Dec. 9.
Melissa, who inherits all her mom's tangible property, is in charge of delegating Joan's fortune to family, friends, and charities who were close to the late Fashion Police host's heart.
Joan's will was filed in New York State Surrogate's Court, and a copy, obtained by the New York Post, reveals her business manager Michael D. Karlin and interior designer Robert Higdon were named co-executors of her living trust.
Rivers died on Sept. 4 after undergoing a routine throat surgery in August. Because she left her fortune in a trust, it is unclear how much money will be going to her surviving family members and friends. But Melissa, her son Edgar Cooper Endicott and Joan's niece and nephew Caroline and Andrew Waxler will all receive inheritances, as will her assistants Jocelyn Picket and Sabrina Lott Miller, and her former publicist Scott Currie.
Part of the late television personality's fortune will go to charitable causes including Guide Dogs for the Blind, Queens-based food pantry God's Love We Deliver, the Jewish Guild for the Blind, Simon Wisenthal Center, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and the Jewish Home and Hospital Foundation.
Melissa, who hosted a Thanksgiving meal in her mom’s honor last month, is expected to speak about her late mother at the Hollywood Reporter's Women in Entertainment Breakfast in Los Angeles later today.
