For the first time since her son's tragic death on July 13, Cory Monteith's mom, Ann McGregor, is speaking out, thanking well-wishes for their support in wake of the tragedy.
"I would like to thank all of Cory's supporters at this extremely emotional time," she tweeted on Aug. 1. "Your support has been overwhelming … thank you !"
It's indeed been a brutal few weeks for McGregor, who held a private viewing in Vancouver with Monteith's girlfriend Lea Michele and brother Shaun on July 16. She has not spoken to any media outlets about the 31-year-old actor's death, who died of a lethal mix of heroin and alcohol in his Vancouver hotel room.
On July 29, 26-year-old Michele broke her silence, tweeting a picture of the two costars snuggling, a beautiful beach sunset shining in the background.
"Thank you all for helping me through this time with your enormous love & support," she wrote. "Cory will forever be in my heart.
The actress returned back to the Glee set on Thursday, Aug. 1, to film season five. "First day of glee today . . . And at my first wardrobe fitting for Rachel Berry for Season Five!" she tweeted. "I've missed her so much."
