First comes love, then comes marriage, then an extravagant televised wedding special and a divorce 72 days later.
Kim Kardashian filed for divorce on Monday, Us Weekly confirms. But just two months earlier, the reality star, 31, and her NBA beau Kris Humphries were the picture of happiness during their fairytale wedding in Montecito, Calif.
On her big day, Kardashian first walked down the aisle in a custom Vera Wang ivory gown; for her reception, she changed into two more form-fitting dresses by the designer.
All of Kim's bridesmaids — sisters Kourtney, Khloe, Kendall and Kylie, along with Kris Humphries' sister Kaela — wore ivory, Vera Wang gowns, as did her mother, Kris Jenner.
Kim and Humphries, 26, wrote their own vows. "Kris talked about how he loved Kim's hustle and work ethic," a source told Us Weekly. "They also talked about all the things they loved about one another."
Famous guests at the fete included Ryan Seacrest, Julianne Hough, Demi Lovato, Lindsay Lohan, George Lopez, Brittny Gastineau, Eva Longoria, Mario Lopez and Sugar Ray Leonard.
The entire wedding has a black and white theme, and thousands of white roses were incorporated into the decor. The same theme was present for the reception — where the food and alcohol flowed!
The newlyweds' wedding extravaganza aired in a two-part special — Kim's Fairytale Wedding: A Kardashian Event — on E! earlier this month.
Fortunately for the reality star and entrepreneur, she safeguarded her assets with an iron-clad prenup. "Kim's Beverly Hills home and all of her assets are protected," an insider told Us in June of Kardashian, who Forbes estimates made $12 million in 2010.
Humphries was aware he "did not receive anything if the marriage [failed]," said a source. "He agreed to that. He's not worried."
"Additionally, she keeps anything she earns during the marriage."
