Oh, to be a fly on the wall! Taylor Swift threw an epic star-studded Fourth of July party over the weekend at her Rhode Island home.
Swift’s guest list included Emma Stone and boyfriend Andrew Garfield, Lena Dunham, Hart of Dixie’s Jaime King, indie-pop singer Ingrid Michaelson, and Gossip Girl alum Jessica Szohr. The ladies slipped into swimsuits, baked desserts, and got in the spirit with sparklers during the fun-filled weekend—sharing snapshots via Twitter and Instagram along the way.
To kick it off, King posted a hilarious video of herself and Swift jumping into a pool on inflatable toys Thursday. “There is only ONE ninja turtle in town and that is @taylorswift!” the actress wrote. (King’s husband Kyle Newman also attended.) Later that day, the gals made their way into the kitchen to bake a patriotic-themed red and white cake and apple pie. “We made apple pie because America,” Swift quipped.
It appears the real bash, however, began on July 4th when Stone, Garfield, Michaelson, Szohr and many others joined in on the celebration. “4th of July is my Coachella,” Girls creator Dunham tweeted Friday. “Be free, ya noodles!” she added, along with a picture of herself with sparklers.
After hanging up her apron, Swift and her pals ventured outside to swim in the ocean. “Sea stampede,” she wrote, with a snapshot of bikini-clad and shirtless men running into the water. The singer later stripped down herself to jump on the inflatable turtle again. “When the 4th of July gives you nonstop rain, make a giant slip n slide,” she wrote.
The group also had fun on a boat, where Garfield showed off an even scruffier beard. “Portrait of Heaven amongst friends. Taylor, Amanda, Ashley, Dan, Austin, Jessica, Jess, Odeya, Andrew, Emma, Colin, Vicky, Simon & Zac,” King posted. “Shot by @kyle_newman.”
Best of all, Swift took a “family portrait” of the group relaxing on the couch. Swift and King leaned into each other while Stone sat near the armrest. Dunham, for her part, wasn’t as cheerful as everyone else. She held up her middle finger for the frame-worthy snapshot.
