Tale as old as time! Belle heads into unknown territory in the first trailer for Disney’s upcoming live-action retelling of Beauty and the Beast, which debuted on Monday, May 23.
Emma Watson, who portrays the book-loving character, appears just briefly in the sneak peek, but it’s enough to pique our interest. In the clip, she arrives at the Beast’s decaying mansion before marveling over the enchanted rose.
“Look, a girl,” Lumiere (Ewan McGregor), the candelabra, says.
Cogsworth (Ian McKellen), the clock, replies: “Yes, I can see it’s a girl, you fool.”
Ignoring the attitude, Lumiere adds: “What if she is the one?”
The trailer ends with the caption “Be our guest,” a reference to the famous song from Disney’s 1991 animated version of Beauty and the Beast.
The live-action version is set to hit theaters in March 2017. The movie also features Luke Evans (Gaston), Emma Thompson (Mrs. Potts), Josh Gad (Le Fou) and Stanley Tucci (Cadenza).
