So no one told you life was gonna be this great! All six cast members from NBC's beloved smash sitcom Friends — Matthew Perry, Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer, Courteney Cox, Matt LeBlanc and Lisa Kudrow — will participate in an upcoming special about legendary TV creator James Burrows.
The network's chairman, Bob Greenblatt, spoke about the news to Us Weekly after making the initial announcement during the Television Critics Association winter press tour panel on Wednesday, January 13. "I believe they will be," he told Us of the entire superstar cast's involvement.
Greenblatt announced during the TCA panel on Wednesday that the Friends cast agreed to participate in a special honoring Burrows, who directed 15 Friends episodes during his career; he's directed up to 200 episodes of Will & Grace as well as other beloved shows such as Cheers, Frasier, and Laverne & Shirley. Friends aired on the network for 10 epic seasons from 1994 to 2004, and launched the careers of Aniston and her cohorts.
Greenblatt also teasingly noted to Us that producers have a general idea about a possible skit, "but i'm loath to discuss it."
He added earlier during the panel, "I’m hoping all six of them will be all in the same room at the same time, but I’m not sure if we can logistically pull that off."
The special is slated to air on NBC on February 21.
