When will the confusion end?! It turns out, Jon Snow may actually be returning to Westeros after all. HBO released a photo of the beloved character, played by Kit Harington, via Twitter on Monday, Nov. 23, in anticipation of Game of Thrones‘ sixth season.
“APRIL. #GoTSeason6 #GameOfThrones,” the caption read. In the pic, Snow is wrapped in fur and his face is covered with blood.
There’s been much debate about Snow’s fate since he appeared to be killed off at the end of Season 5. Back in September, Harington, 28, seemed to hint that Snow, the Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch and the eldest (bastard) son of the late Ned Stark, is very much alive.
“I had to pass on amazing parts because I was attached to Game of Thrones. So the show is like a double-edged sword to me: I owe a lot to it, but at the same time it has almost completely drained me,” he said at the time.
“Oh well, I try not to think about it too much. The important thing is that I now know exactly how long I am still under contract…” In July, the English hunk was also photographed in Belfast, where the series films.
Fans of the adventure fantasy are also hopeful that Snow will be back. “What a time for Jon Snow to be alive,” one commenter tweeted on Monday. A second noted: “Jon Snow really can’t be dead, he has so much to learn. After all, Jon Snow knows nothing.”
