Step aside, Mark Zuckerberg! Aaron Sorkin’s latest tech-savvy project is dedicated to the late Apple co-founder Steve Jobs. In the highly anticipated biopic, Steve Jobs, Michael Fassbender underwent an impressive transformation into the computer tycoon at all stages of his life.
In addition to the German-born actor’s physical transformation, Sorkin’s tale shows the dark side to the company’s leader (much like his 2010 hit, The Social Network, did with the creation of Facebook).
The trailer shows Seth Rogen, as co-founder Steve Wozniak, slamming Jobs for his lack of contribution to the company.
“What do you do?” he asks. “You’re not an engineer. You’re not a designer. You can’t put a hammer to a nail. I built the circuit board, the graphical interface was stolen. So how come 10 times in a day I read, ‘Steve Jobs is a genius’?”
“Musicians play their instruments, I play the orchestra,” Fassbender, as Jobs, replies.
In real life, Jobs passed away in October 2011 at age 56 from cancer.
The film, which also features Kate Winslet and Jeff Daniels, is directed by Oscar-winning British director Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire) and will be released on Oct. 9, 2015.
This certainly isn’t the first take on Jobs’ life. There was also the docudrama movie Pirates of Silicon Valley in 1999 and the 2013 film staring Ashton Kutcher titled Jobs.
