Lasso up! Swords are out, and rope is flying, as the first Wonder Woman trailer debuted during the Warner Bros. panel at San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday, July 23, offering the first extended look of Gal Gadot‘s Diana Prince and Chris Pine‘s Steve Trevor.
The footage for the upcoming blockbuster, directed by Patty Jenkins (Monster), shows the Amazonian princess awkwardly meeting Pine’s fighter pilot character.
“Have you never met a man before? What about your father?” Steve asks. Diana responds, “I had no father. I was brought to life by Zeus.” Steve’s reply? “Well, that’s neat.”
A romantic scene shows Steve telling Diana, “I can’t let you do this.” She fires back, “What I do is not up to you.”
Gadot debuted as Wonder Woman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which made $827 million worldwide when it launched in theaters in March. However, that film earned a tepid response from critics and fans alike, meaning Wonder Woman has a bit of work cut out for it to win over DC Comics fans.
The Warner panel also premiered footage from the upcoming Justice League movie. Director Zach Snyder‘s film stars Ben Affleck (Batman), Henry Cavill (Superman) and Jason Momoa (Aquaman).
The Wonder Woman trailer is in the video above, and the Justice League scenes are below. Wonder Woman hits theaters on June 2, 2017, and Justice League launches on November 17, 2017.
