Netflix
First launched in 1998 as a mail-based subscription service, Netflix has evolved into one of the go-to streaming services. The company transitioned to streaming in 2007 and began producing original content in 2013. (The DVDs-by-mail service was officially phased out in September 2023.) Netflix’s Emmy-winning shows include Orange is the New Black and Stranger Things. It is the No. 1 streaming service internationally, hosting a massive catalog of older fan favorites from other networks, such as Gilmore Girls and Arrested Development, in addition to Netflix Originals, including historical drama Bridgerton and reality TV show Love Is Blind.
