Stranger Things

Sci-fi sensation Stranger Things, created by The Duffer Brothers, sparked the streaming boom when it premiered on Netflix in 2016. Its second and third seasons followed in October 2017 and July 2019, respectively, with season 4 airing in two parts in May 2022 and July 2022.

Starring Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp and Millie Bobby Brown, Stranger Things takes place in the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana, in the 1980s, where a series of supernatural events cause mystery and mayhem. The show pays homage to ‘80s film and television, referencing work by Stephen King, Steven Spielberg and John Carpenter. Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton and Joe Keery rounded out the original cast, with Maya Hawke, Sadie Sink and Joseph Quinn joining in later seasons.

The blockbuster series has attracted record viewership for Netflix and has garnered critical acclaim, winning big at the Emmy Awards and Screen Actors Guild Awards through the years. Stranger Things has been lauded for its exceptional production value and ensemble cast, who have all formed a close bond since the series began.

Production on the fifth and final season of the series was set to begin in spring 2023 but was delayed due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. Writing picked back up in fall 2023 after the WGA negotiated a new contract.
