
Ozark
Netflix’s Ozark stars Jason Bateman and Laura Linney as Marty and Wendy Byrde, who relocate their family to the Lake of the Ozarks after getting stuck working as money launderers for the Mexican drug cartel. Bateman also serves as the show’s director and executive producer.
The couple try to keep their children, Charlotte (Sofia Hublitz) and Jonah (Skylar Gaertner), oblivious to their crimes, which becomes more difficult as they face local criminals and threats from the cartel. Other characters include Ruth Langmore (Julia Garner), who joins the Byrdes’ operation, Marty’s ignorant business partner Rachel Garrison (Jordana Spiro), local heroin dealer and crime boss Jacob Snell (Peter Mullan) and his wife, Darlene (Lisa Emery), and FBI agent Roy Petty (Jason Butler Harner).
Ozark premiered in 2017.. Its fourth and final season aired in two parts in January 2022 and in April 2022. The series has received multiple Golden Globe and Emmy Award nominations, with Garner winning three Emmy Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actress in 2019, 2020 and 2022. Bateman earned an Emmy Award for Outstanding Director in 2019.
