Jason Bateman

Jason Bateman is an actor and director known for his roles on Arrested Development and Ozark. He was born to producer Kent Bateman and is the younger brother of Family Ties actress Justine Bateman. Jason began his acting career as a child, landing a recurring role on Little House on the Prairie from 1981 to 1982. He continued acting throughout his early adulthood and did not graduate high school, instead pursuing acting full time.

Jason’s big break came when he portrayed Derek Taylor on Silver Spoons, and his performance on the show later scored him a role on It’s Your Move. He went on to join the cast of shows such as Valerie, George & Leo and Simon throughout the late ’80s and ’90s.

In 2003, Jason joined the cast of Arrested Development as Michael Bluth. He remained a principal cast member until its end in 2019, and his portrayal of Bluth won him the Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series – Comedy. From 2017 to 2022, he led the Netflix crime drama Ozark as Marty Byrde.

On the big screen, the actor has seen success with appearances in films such as Horrible Bosses (2011), The Gift (2015), Central Intelligence (2017) and Carry-On (2024). He has also lent his voice to the Zootopia franchise as Nick Wilde.

Jason began dating Amanda Anka in 1998 before the two tied the knot in 2001. They welcomed their first child, daughter Francesca, in 2006, and their second child, daughter Maple, in 2012.
