About

The Real Housewives franchise has nearly two decades of history, documenting the lives of wealthy women in cities across the U.S. and internationally. Bravo premiered the Andy Cohen-produced franchise in 2006 with The Real Housewives of Orange County, quickly becoming a reality TV staple by capitalizing on the popularity of scripted dramas like The O.C. (which sparked nationwide interest in Newport, California) and Desperate Housewives.

RHOC quickly sparked spinoffs across the country with each show following the Housewives as they navigate their friendships, family dynamics, business ventures and social status, often highlighting personal conflicts, lavish lifestyles and dramatic confrontations.

The U.S. franchises include The Real Housewives of Orange County, The Real Housewives of New York City, The Real Housewives of Atlanta, The Real Housewives of New Jersey, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, The Real Housewives of Miami, The Real Housewives of Potomac, The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City and The Real Housewives of Dallas. The show made its international debut with The Real Housewives of Dubai, which premiered in 2022 and became the first international installment produced under the Bravo brand.

Various spinoffs, including Vanderpump Rules and many wedding specials, have been spawned from the flagship shows. Cast members from the various cities have even joined forces on The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip.

Real Housewives viewers have gotten to follow fan-favorite cast members like Porsha Williams, Sonja Morgan, Ramona Singer, Teresa Giudice and Lisa Vanderpump through not only watching the shows but also at in-person events like BravoCon.
