Is it possible to be too sexy?
Sports Illustrated has published its annual swimsuit issue for over half a century, and the magazine has never been shy in pushing the envelope with its covers. Over the years readers have feasted on images of supermodels — including Heidi Klum, Kate Upton, and Molly Sims — clad in everything including strings and seashells, so why the hoopla now with 2015 cover model Hannah Davis?
Unveiled on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday, Feb. 4, the shot featured the beauty yanking down her bikini bottoms to dangerously low levels. However the latest issue — and even the pose — is hardly the most skin-baring look of all time (hey, at least she’s wearing a bikini this year!)
Here, take a look back at other scorching-hot bikini babes from year’s past.
In 2009, Bar Refaeli‘s modeled the same pose (albeit not as up close and personal), displaying tan lines close to her nether regions.
In 2008, Marisa Miller posed seductively on the island of St. John, wearing a string of beads for a top and matching blue bottoms.
And before that, in 1997, Tyra Banks made history becoming the first African-American model to ever land a solo cover holding the same low-slung pose — though the America’s Next Top Model judge’s cleavage was the bigger story at that time.
Tell Us: Do you think the 2015 Sports Illustrated cover is too sexy or are people freaking out over nothing?
