We’re speechless! Max Greenfield was nearly unrecognizable while attending the FOX All-Star party in L.A. on Aug. 6; the normally dark-haired New Girl actor was sporting bleach-blond locks in the ultimate hair throwback.
Although Greenfield’s dramatic makeover is likely for his role on the upcoming American Horror Story: Hotel (premiering Oct. 7), Us can’t help but compare those blond tips and dark roots to a number of retro heartthrobs.
Take out Justin Timberlake‘s signature ‘N Sync curls and the resemblance is startling. Similarly, Mark-Paul Gosselaar‘s (Zack Morris from Saved by the Bell) and Backstreet Boys singer Nick Carter circa the ’90s could be the actor’s long-lost triplet brothers, too!
A week before sharing a pic from the set of American Horror Story on Instagram, Greenfield debuted the newly lightened locks at the Charlotte & Gwenyth Gray Foundation benefit in L.A. with his wife, Tess Sanchez—who is pregnant with the couple’s second child—on July 14.
Although he already shares a 5-year-old daughter with Sanchez, Greenfield joked that he’s not shy about delegating responsibility. “[My daughter]’s old enough now that we’re hoping she can be the sister and the night nurse at the same time,” he told Us Weekly back in May. “She doesn’t have a job; my wife and I do. We’re going to really need her to step it up in the middle of the night when that baby starts crying.”
