Max Greenfield

Max Greenfield is an Emmy-nominated actor and author. Raised in Dobbs Ferry, New York, Greenfield briefly attended the University of Wisconsin before dropping out and instead pursuing acting.

Greenfield’s career began with guest roles on shows such as Gilmore Girls, Undressed and Boston Public. He had a recurring role as police officer Leo D’Amato on Veronica Mars, and later appeared on the ABC shows Greek, Ugly Betty and Happy Endings.

Greenfield got his big break in 2011 after joining the cast of Fox’s New Girl as Schmidt. After just one season on the show, he was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award in the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series category. He later went on to receive both a Golden Globe and Critics’ Choice Award nomination for his role in the series. He’s also ventured into voice acting, and has lent his voice to shows such as BoJack Horseman and Bob’s Burgers. In 2018, Greenfield signed on to the sitcom The Neighborhood as Dave Johnson where he has remained a principal member of the cast.

The actor wed casting director Tess Sanchez in 2008. The couple share two children: daughter Lily, born in 2010, and son Ozzie, born in 2015.
