*Face palm.* Vogue U.K.’s December 2016 issue includes an article by Kathleen Baird-Murray titled, “Desperately Seeking Cleavage.” Baird-Murray believes that flaunting one’s décolletage is “out.” Unsurprisingly, the internet is appalled.
The article declared that “the tits will not be out for the lads. Or for anyone else, for that matter,” citing examples like Alicia Vikander‘s high-necked Golden Globes dress and the rise of the pussybow blouse to highlight the point. But social commenters clapped back with an endless string of questions, including the most pressing: Why does a magazine want to “police” women’s natural bodies in the first place?
There were those celebrating their breasts:
Vogue says cleavage is “out”.
Looks down.
I beg to differ.

Those who got a little cheeky (with a nod to the upcoming election):

Er, no thanks.
And those that were just plain mad:

who gives a flying %$#%? Why is this even a question? I have cleavage whether I want it or not. Do one.

But most people, like @priscillalauren, just wanted a little justice. “@BritishVogue @KathleenBM how about you stop telling people what’s okay to do with their bodies? Just a suggestion,” she tweeted.
While Vogue may believe cleavage is out, showcasing your underwear certainly isn’t. Celebrities, including Kendall and Kylie Jenner, and street style stars alike have been flashing their underthings out in public.
Kendall, 21, for one, is all about working the girls. “I don’t know. I’m weird. I love my tits being out,” she recently told W magazine. “It’s like one of my things, I guess.”
