Congratulations are in order! Nate Berkus and Jeremiah Brent are expecting their second child, a baby boy, via surrogate.
“Well, the cat is out of the bag…and we couldn’t be happier @jeremiahbrent,” Berkus captioned a video of their 2-year-old daughter Poppy yelling “We’re having a baby brother!” on Wednesday, February 14, via Instagram.
The interior designers began dating in early 2012. They became the first same-sex couple to tie the knot at the iconic New York Public Library in a star-studded ceremony in May 2014. They welcomed Poppy via surrogate in March 2015.
“It’s made me realize that everything I work for and everything that I do is really for her,” Berkus, 46, told Us exclusively in June 2015 of becoming a first-time father. “It doesn’t feel burdensome. It feels very natural.”
The TV personality and Brent, 33, have had plenty to celebrate this year. In August, Us exclusively revealed that their TLC series, Nate & Jeremiah By Design, was renewed for a second season. The hit show follows the couple’s life with Poppy, as well as their journey helping homeowners turn failed renovations into their dream houses.
