Nate Berkus is an interior designer, author and television personality best known for hosting The Nate Berkus Show and Nate & Jeremiah by Design. Berkus grew up in suburban Minneapolis. His mother, Nancy Golden, is also a designer and television personality. He graduated from Lake Forest College in Illinois with bachelor’s degrees in French and sociology before launching his career in interior design.

Berkus founded Nate Berkus Associates in Chicago in 1995, quickly gaining high-profile clients. He hosted his own syndicated talk show, The Nate Berkus Show, from 2010 to 2012, and later starred in the TLC series Nate & Jeremiah by Design alongside husband Jeremiah Brent. He has authored several books on home design, including Home Rules: Transform the Place You Live Into a Place You’ll Love (2005).

Berkus was in a long-term relationship with photographer Fernando Bengoechea, who died in the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami. He married Brent in 2014, and the couple share children Poppy (born in 2015) and son Oskar (born in 2018).
