No one does glam like Effie Trinket!
After stunning in Elie Saab at the London premiere on Monday, Nov. 10, Elizabeth Banks hit three more The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 events on Nov. 10 and 11. No surprise: The blonde beauty channeled her Capitol character’s chic sartorial senses at them all.
Banks, 40, flew solo to Berlin to promote the much-anticipated film on Nov. 11, and she owned the red carpet. The Pitch Perfect actress—who’s also directing the sleeper hit’s sequel—flaunted her curves at the premiere in a scarlet Saint Laurent dress, complete with an open keyhole back, tied to create a bow, and an up-to-there slit. She teamed the look with molten accessories, including Giuseppe Zanotti heels and Jennifer Fisher earrings.

Also while she was in Berlin, the mom of two with husband Max Handelman did double-duty by attending a press conference where she wore a red lace top by House of Holland, J Brand leather pants, and studded Barbara Bui heels.
But before she even hopped the pond, Banks attended a press conference in London on Nov. 10, where the film’s first international premiere was hosted. There, Banks truly embodied Effie (and just a touch of Mindy Lahiri) in an Andrew Gn dress that boasted a rainbow of florals on mixed prints.
And of course, who could forget how she stole the show at the world premiere in the British capital? After walking the carpet in a breathtaking, watercolor dress by Elie Saab, the Walk of Shame actress slipped into a shimmering bronze cocktail dress by Monique Lhuillier for the film’s afterparty.
On her website, ElizabethBanks.com, Banks said of her premiere look: “I think even Effie would have been proud of this dress choice.” (Editor’s note: We agree!)

For her role in the latest Hunger Games film, Banks told Us Weekly that Effie is getting a bit of a make-under. “Effie really finds herself having to what I like to call ‘Project Runway her way’ through the wardrobe that’s given to her,” the actress said. “It was like, okay, the shirt’s going to be a dress and the tights are going to be the sleeves of a shirt, the sweater’s going to go on my head. She can make anything fabulous.” As can the woman who plays her!
