Another pair of Dancing With the Stars lovebirds are waltzing down the aisle! Pro dancers Emma Slater and Sasha Farber are engaged, after he popped the question midway through the ABC competition series’ Tuesday, October 4, episode.
Following the pair’s romantic Viennese waltz, he told her, “I’ve wanted to do this for such a long time — I love you so, so much.” The Russian-born Farber, 33, got down on one knee and proposed with a pink sapphire diamond ring, and Slater, 27, cried and nodded yes. Appropriately, the words “she said yes!” appeared on the screen behind them, and their fellow costars came down to congratulate the pair as confetti fell.
“We’re going to bask in this for a while,” host Tom Bergeron happily told the crowd.
The pair have been dating on and off since 2011. Farber is paired with Little Women: LA star Terra Jolé this season. Slater, who hails from England, and dance partner Rick Perry were eliminated during last week’s episode.
This show has a knack for bringing people together. Fellow DWTS pros Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd got engaged in December 2015, and are expecting their first child together. Chmerkovskiy was previously engaged to dance pro Karina Smirnoff in 2008, but they called it off in 2009.
This was the British-born Slater’s sixth season competing on the show, with her best finish coming in season 17 (which was her first stint), when she landed fourth place with Bill Engvall. This is Farber’s third season; he came in eighth place with Kim Fields last season.
Dancing With the Stars airs on ABC Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET.
