Aly Michalka

Aly Michalka is an actress, singer and songwriter. She began learning to play piano and guitar as a child and started performing in church plays and local theater alongside her younger sister, AJ Michalka.

Aly got her big break in 2004 when she was cast as Keely Teslow on Disney Channel’s Phil of the Future, which ran for two seasons. She and her sister signed with Hollywood Records and formed the musical duo Aly & AJ, releasing their debut album, Into the Rush, in 2005. She later starred in Disney Channel Original Movies Now You See It… (2005) and Cow Belles (2006).

The actress transitioned into more mature roles with appearances in Easy A (2010), The Roommate (2011), Grown Ups 2 (2013) and Sequoia (2014). From 2015 to 2019, she starred as Peyton Charles on The CW’s iZombie. Some of her later onscreen appearances include MacGyver and The Good Doctor.

With her sister, she continued releasing music under Aly & AJ, including the albums Insomniatic (2007), With Love From (2023) and Silver Deliverer (2025).

Aly wed director Stephen Ringer in 2015 after meeting on the set of Sequoia. The couple welcomed son Jack Francis in April 2024.
