Jason Derulo

Jason Derulo (born Jason Joel Desrouleaux) is a singer, songwriter and dancer known for pop and R&B hits including “Whatcha Say” and “Talk Dirty.” Derulo spent his early years in Miramar, Florida, where he began writing songs at a young age. He went on to study musical theater at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy, further developing his stage presence.

Derulo first launched his career as a songwriter, writing tracks for artists including Lil Wayne and Sean Kingston before breaking out as a solo artist. He rose to fame in 2009 with his debut single, “Whatcha Say,” which reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. He followed up with a string of successful releases, establishing himself as a mainstay in pop music throughout the 2010s with a blend of dance-driven tracks and R&B influences.

Over the years, Derulo released multiple albums, including Jason Derulo (2010) and Talk Dirty (2014), producing hits like “In My Head” and “Ridin’ Solo.” He has also built a strong social media presence, particularly on TikTok, where he has gained a large following. In 2019, he made his big-screen debut as Rum Tum Tugger in the film adaptation of Cats.

Derulo dated Jordin Sparks from 2011 to 2014. He later welcomed a son, Jason King (born in 2021), with model Jena Frumes.
