Joe Simpson

Joe Simpson is a former talent manager and television producer best known as the father and former manager of Jessica Simpson and Ashlee Simpson. Joe grew up in San Antonio and attended Baylor University. Before entering the entertainment industry, he worked as a Baptist minister and youth pastor.

Joe rose to prominence in the early 2000s as the manager of his daughter Jessica, guiding her career from pop star to reality TV icon. He also managed daughter Ashlee, helping launch her music and acting career. He was a producer on Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica (2003-2005), which followed Jessica and then-husband Nick Lachey, as well as The Ashlee Simpson Show, both of which were major hits on MTV.

Beyond reality TV, the producer worked as a talent manager, helping shape his daughters’ careers in music, film, and fashion. He has since pursued a career as a professional photographer and has done cover shoots for publications such as C’est Prune.

Simpson married Tina Simpson in 1978, and the pair divorced in 2013. The former couple shares daughters Jessica (born in 1980) and Ashlee (born in 1984) and six grandchildren.
