Ashlee Simpson

Texas native and younger sister to Jessica Simpson, Ashlee Simpson was born in 1984.

At age 11, she was the youngest person ever admitted to the School of American Ballet. After dancing backup for her sister from 1999 to 2001, Simpson released her own album, Autobiography, in 2004. Aided by the popularity of a reality show detailing the making of her album, Autobiography achieved platinum status. She celebrated the album’s 20th anniversary by releasing an expanded version in July 2024.

Infamously, Simpson was embarrassed in front of a national TV audience when she began lip-syncing to the wrong track on a 2004 episode of Saturday Night Live amid vocal cord issues. She later said that the incident taught her when to say “no.” 

In February 2011, Simpson filed for divorce from her husband of three years, Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz. The pair share a son, Bronx Mowgli. She went on to marry Evan Ross, son of Diana Ross, in August 2014. The two have a son, Ziggy Blue, and a daughter, Jagger Snow.
