Nicole Richie

Nicole Richie is a television personality, fashion designer and actress best known for starring alongside Paris Hilton on the reality series The Simple Life. Born in Berkeley, California, Richie was adopted by music icon Lionel Richie and his then-wife Brenda Harvey Richie at a young age. She attended Montclair College Preparatory School in Los Angeles and later briefly studied at the University of Arizona before dropping out to pursue a career in entertainment.

Richie rose to fame in 2003 with The Simple Life, which ran for five seasons and followed her and Hilton as they navigated life outside of their wealthy socialite bubble. The show turned her into a household name and a staple in the early 2000s.

Following her reality TV success, Richie launched her fashion brand House of Harlow 1960 and expanded into acting with roles in Chuck, Grace and Frankie and the NBC comedy Great News. She also appeared as a judge on Fashion Star and guest starred in Bless This Mess and Making the Cut.

Richie began dating singer Joel Madden in 2006. The couple married in 2010 and have two children: daughter Harlow (born in 2008) and son Sparrow (born in 2009).
