Tanner Tolbert vied for Kaitlyn Bristowe’s heart on season 11 of The Bachelorette in 2015 but was sent home in week 6. Tolbert went on to star on season 2 of Bachelor in Paradise that same year, where he met Jade Roper. The two tied the knot in early 2016, with their wedding being documented on a special episode of The Bachelor season 20.

The couple have three children: Emerson (born in 2017), Brooks (born in 2019) and Reed (born in 2020). In 2020, Roper revealed that Emerson and Brooks are rainbow babies, indicating that she suffered prior miscarriages. She revealed in 2023 that she experienced a “missed miscarriage” with a son the pair planned to name Beau.
