Tea Leoni
New York City native Téa Leoni spent her formative years growing up in Manhattan. She attended Sarah Lawrence College but didn’t graduate.
Leoni auditioned for Aaron Spelling’s remake of Charlie’s Angels on a dare and landed the part, but the show never aired due to conflicts with the 1988 writer’s strike. Despite the setback, Leoni continued to pursue acting and got her big break when she appeared in the 1991 movie Switch. She went on to land a minor role in 1992’s A League of Their Own.
From 1996 to 1998, Leoni had a starring role in the NBC sitcom The Naked Truth. She later appeared in movies such as The Family Man, Spanglish and Fun with Dick and Jane. Leoni also appeared on season 4 of Only Murders in the Building, teasing a bigger role for season 5, which has yet to premiere.
Leoni was married to director Neil Tardio from 1991 to 1995. In 1997, she married X-Files star David Duchovny. Leoni and Duchovny share daughter West and son Kyd. In 2014, Leoni filed for divorce from Duchovny after nearly two decades of marriage. (Duchovny sought help for sex addiction in 2008).
Leoni moved on with Tim Daly, her Madam Secretary costar, in 2014. The pair tied the knot in July 2025.
